The Courtyard Residence is a family home in which natural light and ventilation are the core of the design. The main concept is to create a secluded, tranquil area at the center of the house, with all other areas surrounding it as extensions of this space. Verandah space (thinnai) is incorporated in the transition spaces as sitouts for family, promoting healthy indoor-outdoor relationship for good family time and a natural habitat. Traditional planning and vernacular materials create a home where comfort meets modernity.
